Nico Vascellari

Nasce nel 1976 a Vittorio Veneto. Vive e lavora tra Vittorio Veneto e New York. E' artista visivo e front-man della band punk/noise With Love con la quale ha realizzato diversi album e tour tra Europa, Giappone e Stati Uniti. Questa intensa esperienza performativa e' uno dei punti di partenza della sua ricerca artistica. Si esprime utilizzando media differenti come scultura e fotografia, video e installazione. Le sue performance sono state di recente definite "tempeste di feedback tra performer, pubblico e ambiente". Con il progetto Nico & The Vascellaris, e' stato premiato con il Primo Premio Internazionale della Performance da una giuria presieduta da Marina Abramovic che lo ha successivamente invitato a prendere parte all’IPG. Nel 2006 ha vinto il Premio New York e nel 2007 il Premio Per La Giovane Arte indetto dalla Darc grazie al quale parteciperà alla prossima Biennale Arte di Venezia.

Born 1976 in Vittorio Veneto. Lives and works between Vittorio Veneto and New York. Visual artist and front-man of the punk/noise band With Love, with whom he has recorded and toured Europe, Japan and the USA. This intense performative experience is one of the points of departure for his artistic research. His expression utilizes various media such as sculpture and photography, video and installations. For his performative project “Nico & The Vascellaris”, he was awarded first prize in International Performance by a jury presided over by Marina Abramovic, who later invited him to take part in the Independent Performance Group. In 2006 he won the New York Prize and in 2007 the Premio Per La Giovane Arte by Darc, thanks to which he will participate in the next Biennale Arte di Venezia.
